On several occations and with several firewall brands we have noted that more than so often firewall configurations demand that you actually create a new rule e.g. for port 443 and not just activate a default rule. This is especially tricky since simply activating a rule gives the impression that it should work, which is obviously should. If it does not; rewrite or create a new firewall rule. We are fully aware that this advise seem to be somewhere in the line of “reboot the computer”; however activated rules that simply does not work has been the occasion on so many instances that we simply cannot ignore it.
